Meet the Director

Annette Rushing, known for many years as Miss Annette,  has over 25 years of pageantry related experience. From former titleholder, model, pageant coach in interview-  modeling, Assistant Director, judge, emcee, Director and most  importantly, "Pageant Mom."

Miss Annette is Director of the MISS AUSTIN SCHOLARSHIP PAGEANTS - including Youth, Teen & Miss - ranging in age from Baby to 25 years. It is also open to boys in the Youth. In addition to being the Miss Austin Director Miss Annette is the state director for the MRS. TEXAS UNITED AMERICA pageant which is open to any married lady in Texas who is 18 years and up. She is also the Director of the National Pageant, MRS. UNITED AMERICA - offering another choice for competition to the married ladies of the United States of America.

Annette has also worked with various TV personalities and media in reference to her pageantry and modeling experience.  One of the fun opportunities she had was working with the show entitled "Matchmaker" shown on the Life Channel on National TV.  When she was asked to be the Hostess/Emcee for the show, she instead referred this position to a titleholder, but was able to be included in the process of the taping.   Annette was also involved with helping to coordinate the documentary for the program called MADE for MTV which will aired on National TV in the spring-2004. 

Annette has been working with various organizations in and around Austin and Texas and enjoys including her titleholders with the different events.  She has helped with many exciting things including celebrities such as Lance Armstrong, Willie Nelson, many politicians, World Figure Skaters, and famous actors.  She has also been contacted by and invited to be a Talent Scout for the 2004 World Championship of Performing Arts. Besides being involved with pageants, Annette has owned her own successful business for 23 years in Austin, Tx.

Hello. It is a pleasure to be involved in helping to shape - in a positive way - the lives of so many wonderful participants of my programs. To be able to offer the guidance in helping to achieve the positive SELF CONFIDENCE - POISE - and FAIR COMPETITION - to go towards a goal to help further ones self. To offer this opportunity to showcase your personality and talent. To help give you a "choice" in competition where you are not required to have more than necessary to represent YOU - the focus being on the contestant more than the clothes. Where in my pageants - the Contestant ALWAYS comes FIRST! and you will always receive MORE than a title - besides the scholarships and prizes, you will get to represent your title throughout the year! You will be seen on TV., parades, in major publications, talent and commercials and be seen by thousands!

It is my goal to continue to run a FAIR, HONEST competition.
